Porcelain crowns are aesthetically pleasing and natural to the eye. They are used to restore teeth that have been severely broken down. Porcelain crowns do not leave dark lines around their margin as is the case with metal base crowns. Like veneers they can be used to change the colour, position and orientation of teeth.
The first visit the tooth is prepared and impressions taken and sent away to the lab to be made. A temporary crown will be placed at this point.
The second visit will take place ten working days later and if you are happy with the result, the crown will be placed on the prepared tooth.
